About The Position

Axiom Space is seeking a Software Program Integration Lead to serve as the single point of contact for software across the Station program. The role works across engineering, program management, systems integration, and stakeholder coordination to ensure software deliveries from Station element teams work together and meet program objectives. This is an individual contributor position without direct people-management responsibilities; the Lead orchestrates software delivery across Station elements. The position develops integration strategies and schedules, integration plans, and contingency plans; oversees software builds and integration environments; supports system-level testing and validation; and partners with the Software Release Manager on releases and readiness. It also coordinates stakeholders, monitors milestones, risks, and dependencies, escalates issues and potential delays, reports delivery status to program leadership, and produces integration plans, Interface Control Documents, architecture diagrams, risk registers, and status reports. Work is generally in an office environment, though tasks may involve inside or outside work. Evening and weekend work may be required as needed for critical project milestones. The position may require access to export-controlled technical data or technology and additional screening for eligibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Management Information Systems, plus ten years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with systems integration.
  • Familiarity with agile methodology and the Scrum framework.
  • Proven leadership across project management, stakeholder communication, conflict resolution, technical decision-making, risk management, and prioritization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Track record of getting results in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Sound judgment and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with a positive impact on difficult challenges.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines while delivering high-quality results.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.
  • Final candidates may be required to undergo additional export control screening to determine eligibility for access to export-controlled technical data or technology; meeting these requirements is a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Human spaceflight or aerospace program experience with flight or ground software.
  • Experience managing from a software Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) using tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Jira.
  • Familiarity with NPR 7150.2 (NASA Software Engineering Requirements).

Responsibilities

  • Define integration strategies and schedules aligned with program needs across all Station elements.
  • Plan how software deliveries from each element team fit together to meet program objectives.
  • Develop and maintain integration plans, resolve compatibility issues, and coordinate contingency plans.
  • Oversee software builds and integration environments, maximizing reuse across elements and adapting where needed.
  • Support system-level testing and validation, coordinating V&V activities in accordance with Axiom’s V&V plan.
  • Partner with the Software Release Manager on releases and release readiness.
  • Identify software risks early and escalate them to leadership for assessment and mitigation.
  • Track milestones, risks, and dependencies; coordinate cross-functional schedules; and escalate potential delays.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact among software engineering, systems engineering, hardware, QA/test, DevSecOps, and other stakeholders; drive issue resolution and lead technical meetings.
  • Report software development and delivery status to program leadership.
  • Deliver integration plans, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), architecture diagrams, risk registers, and status reports.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as required.
