About The Position

Empower AI is seeking a Software License Management Specialist for an exciting opportunity at the Department of State. This role is crucial for managing software assets and completing deliverables to support the customer's mission of providing enterprise-wide IT services to DoS users. The specialist will ensure a complete and accurate inventory of all assets and licenses, maintain official records of hardware and software assets and warranty information, and provide comprehensive hardware and software asset management throughout the asset life cycle. This includes managing software end-of-life, reconciliation, report generation, trend analysis, periodic inventory reviews, and operational compliance support. The role also involves assisting in developing and implementing License Management and Tracking Procedures, monitoring active warranties, ensuring software purchases are covered by appropriate warranties to meet Government requirements, and coordinating license renewals and tracking potential warranty expirations. The goal is to ensure a just-in-time software renewal process, avoiding overlap in license or maintenance costs, and keeping the Asset Management System current with new expiration dates and documenting any penalties associated with early renewals.

Requirements

3+ years of experience
Associate's degree or equivalent
Secret Security Clearance

Responsibilities

Ensure a complete and accurate inventory of all assets and licenses acquired or deployed into production environments.
Maintain an official record of hardware and software assets and warranty information.
Provide comprehensive hardware and software asset management throughout the asset life cycle, including software end-of-life.
Perform reconciliation activities, report generation, trend analysis, periodic inventory reviews, and operational compliance support.
Assist in developing and implementing License Management and Tracking Procedures for each software license and maintenance category in coordination with the customer.
Monitor active warranties and ensure that all software purchases are covered by appropriate warranties to meet Government requirements.
Coordinate license renewals and track potential warranty expirations that could affect the license renewal process.
Ensure the software renewal process is just-in-time, avoiding any overlap in license or maintenance costs.
Keep the Asset Management System current with new expiration dates following each renewal.
Identify and document any penalties associated with early renewals.
