About The Position

Salesforce is hiring a technically strong, collaborative engineer for the AppExchange Go To Market App Quality Assurance Team. The team is building a platform to turn AppExchange into an integrated, transactable marketplace where partners can sell and customers can purchase, deploy, and pay for solutions with fewer manual steps and support for a wider range of pricing models. The role owns end-to-end quality for complex or ambiguous features in a distributed system spanning products and business units. The engineer uses agile methods to plan and execute test plans, combining automated and hands-on testing and advising product teams. This requires understanding the distributed architecture and scrum teams’ functionality, learning customers’ business needs, and translating customer scenarios and data into automatable tests. The engineer will help establish an automation foundation and framework across the testing pyramid, support quality practices through testing and code and design reviews, and collaborate with senior developers, product managers, UX, and other teams. The role also participates in an on-call rotation and addresses production issues.

Requirements

A related technical degree.
At least 4 years of experience in software engineering, quality engineering, usability, or business analysis.
High proficiency in JavaScript and Java.
Experience with UI and backend automation.
Understanding of object-oriented programming.
Familiarity with industry quality and usability practices.
Proficiency in writing functional UI and API automation.
Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, or GitHub Copilot to support test design, automation development, debugging, and documentation; ability to validate AI-generated code and tests for accuracy, coverage, and security.
Ability to learn quickly and solve problems.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely and coordinate cross-team efforts.
Experience with agile development methodology.
Experience with developer tools such as Git, Maven, and Eclipse IDE.
Good understanding of relational databases and SQL.
Ability to participate in the team’s on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

Master the Salesforce development process and codebase to improve it.
Participate in a Test Design Review Board for integration test plans within and across clouds, focusing on functional and business scenarios, high-impact projects, usability, and accessibility.
Develop an understanding of cloud requirements, including underlying technology stacks, business usage, and implementation.
Build end-to-end, cross-cloud integration automation for APIs and UI using varied organizations.
Connect with customers to understand real-world usage and develop test cases.
Execute testing with sophisticated organization setups and multifaceted data shapes.
Prioritize and drive cross-product testing.
Advocate for customer improvements.
Monitor product and feature quality metrics, including testability, test health, and test coverage.
Work with senior developers, product managers, and UX to ensure features meet business and quality requirements.
Evaluate AI-assisted testing approaches, such as generating test cases from requirements and analyzing failures, and share effective approaches with the scrum team.
Address production issues and participate in the team’s on-call rotation to resolve complex problems and maintain service availability.
Build an automation technology foundation and framework to guide engineering teams in building, executing, and owning different types of tests across the testing pyramid.
Provide mentorship through code and design reviews for features delivered by developers on the scrum team.
