About The Position

Cigna-Evernorth Services Inc. seeks a Software Engineering Senior Advisor for the Morris Plains, NJ location to design and develop a consolidated, conformed enterprise data warehouse and data lake, which stores all critical data across Customer, Provider, Claims, Client and Benefits data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Information Systems or related field and 5 years of experience.
  • Working in/with clients in the healthcare or pharmacy benefit management industry
  • Performing cross functional system level design
  • Designing architecture and migrating the legacy Mainframe Enrollment and Eligibility file processing applications into AWS, Python, and Spark based framework for Modernization
  • Tracking and guiding continuous improvement of digital maturity for discovery, delivery, and engineering practices
  • Using Jira for project management to track all phases of software development
  • Conducting causal analysis to identify root causes
  • Completing project lifecycle including project planning, scope/ schedule/ resource/finance/stakeholder management, and cross functional team management
  • Planning project approach, KPIs, and metrics for Project Tracking, Reporting, and Managing Financials
  • Release Planning, Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Daily Scrum, Show and Tell, and Retrospection
  • Using IBM Mainframe and Electronic Data Interchange technologies to design system architecture, guide and review technical delivery by internal teams, and resolve architecture issues
  • Writing and modifying complex software application programs
  • Developing and supporting the parallel execution flow while the migration is in progress and until successful launch of the migration
  • Building Regression test frameworks, automating legacy manual processes in QA testing, and developing productivity/ Automation tools based on Rexx, ISPF, and Hiperstation
  • Building new CICS regions from scratch
  • Working with CICS, DBA, and Mainframe infrastructure teams to perform sanity tests
  • Automating existing manual tasks using REXX, ISPF, and CA 7
  • Reviewing and monitoring all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, design, code development, and testing and implementation
  • Using: Cobol, JCL, DB2, Web Services, IBM Rational Developer for z systems, Electronic Data Interchange, Mercator, WTX8.2, and Abinito, Restful Microservices, REST APIs, library calls, and database queries.

  • Provide expert content and professional leadership on complex engineering assignments and projects.
  • Design, develop and implement methods, processes, tools and analyses to sift through large amounts of data stored in a data warehouse or data mart to find relationships and patterns.
  • Deliver end-to-end business software needs from concept to deployment.
  • Participate in the delivery of the definitive enterprise information environment that enables strategic decision making capabilities across enterprise via analytics and reporting.
  • Conceive, plan, and deliver initiatives.
  • Provide thought leadership within Information Management while also working on broader projects that require understanding of wider business practices.
  • Drive the adoption of CI/CD tools and support the improvement of tool sets/processes.
  • Write software that successfully integrates and interfaces systems.
