About The Position

The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Engineering Manager - Cabin Systems to lead our software development projects for the Integrated Cabin & Cargo Systems function within the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) organization in Everett, WA. In this role, you will lead employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Cabin Systems, specifically in support of the development, installation and certification of Cabin Systems software features for the 787 and 777 airplane families. This role encompasses project oversight, software development, implementation responsibilities, and a strong focus on quality assurance. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in software development, particularly in DO-178 certification, along with exceptional leadership capabilities. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in full software development life-cycle
  • 5+ years of experience with systems or software engineering on space-based systems
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 3+ years of experience with DO-178C and supplements (DO-331, DO-332) and DO-330
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executives
  • 3+ years of experience in cross-functional leadership, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication
  • Experience with Gitlab, CI/CD pipeline
  • Experience in software development using Java, JavaScript, and Node.JS
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
