About The Position

Tulip is hiring a Software Engineering Manager to lead the team building a new agent-native canvas-based authoring and administration experience. The product maps customers’ production systems—including apps, data, automations, and surrounding context—and will change how customers compose, deploy, and operate applications on Tulip’s platform. The team also owns product-wide asset import and export, enterprise governance features, and integration with Tulip Library. The manager will own the technical architecture and delivery of the agent-native app-building product, while hiring, mentoring, and growing a team of three to five engineers. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management and close collaboration with Product, Design, Infrastructure, QA, customers, and Customer Success. The manager will establish engineering standards for testing, observability, and AI-driven development, and help evolve Tulip’s API surface and runtime so agents can work effectively without compromising the existing platform. The position is suited to a technically strong, product-minded leader with experience delivering SaaS products and distributed systems, building production AI systems, and developing engineers. Tulip describes the role as an opportunity to help establish an AI-first development culture and shape practices that can serve as a reference for the broader engineering organization. The role is based in Somerville, Massachusetts, in a hybrid environment requiring at least three days per week in the office.
