About The Position

Trimble is hiring an experienced full-stack engineer to lead technical development for the Payroll team within Trimble Financials. The role involves independently owning the technical development, quality, and performance of complex engineering work using agentic AI tools. The engineer will work with broad autonomy on ambiguous problems, set technical direction, and help bring strategic visions to life through secure, optimal architectures. The team is building a React micro-frontend backed by an event-driven .NET payroll system. The engineer will design and improve AI-agent development pipelines and practices, including standards for supervising agent output and maintaining prompt libraries, agent skills, and evaluation datasets. They will lead architectural design and reviews, deliver end-to-end features across frontend and backend services, and own testing strategies and frameworks. The position also includes mentoring engineers, influencing technical direction, and ensuring engineering decisions and work align with applicable business KPIs. The technical environment includes React, TypeScript, and single-spa on the frontend; .NET, C#, PostgreSQL, and event-driven messaging on the backend; and Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and GitHub Actions for infrastructure and delivery. AI tools include Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor. The position is based in Lake Oswego, Oregon, with onsite work four days per week.

  • Lead design of modular, cost-aware architectures for scale and performance, and drive technical feasibility and security reviews early in the product development lifecycle.
  • Ensure adherence to platform standards, lead prototype design reviews, author and review architecture decision records, and contribute to architectural decisions spanning services or teams.
  • Deliver complex end-to-end features across frontend and backend services with minimal guidance.
  • Own testing strategy and frameworks for the area, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, coverage targets, and automated continuous testing.
