Software Engineering Intern
About The Position
Join Keysight Technologies’ Communications Solutions Group (CSG) as a Software Engineering Intern and contribute to developing the Keysight Fabric Emulator, a software-defined platform that emulates complex, multi-switch Ethernet-based data center topologies on a single hardware appliance. The role provides exposure to current networking technologies and high-performance networking stacks, data center fabrics, programmable switches, smartNICs/DPUs, industry-standard tools, and the application development cycle. The intern will work in a high-performance development team to deliver high-quality solutions to complex problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in a data center-related field such as networking or security, or in computer engineering.
- Hands-on experience programming switch ASICs.
- Programming experience in C, C++, and Python.
- Experience with Kubernetes, building services, and debugging in a Kubernetes environment.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and Git or other version control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with gRPC and protobuf.
Responsibilities
- Learn and expand knowledge of data center networking.
- Work on a project spanning multiple levels, from ASIC programming to a public API server.
- Design low-level features that program the ASIC and provide an ASIC-independent abstraction API to higher levels.
