Requirements

Sustained excellence in academic performance
Must be a student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related degree and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship.
This position has an on-site requirement of 3 days a week minimum.
Prior experience as an intern at MITRE in the last 12 months.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
Familiarity with Cloud Services Providers (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.).
Knowledge of software design patterns.
Knowledge of database technologies, including relational or NoSQL.
Knowledge of Generative Pretrained and Large Language Models and use in the Software Development Lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Develop software systems that contribute to solving our nation’s most critical problems.
Be mentored by engineers and scientists that are experts in their fields.
Develop software architecture and engineering skills while delivering computing capabilities wherever they are best suited to address the challenges of our sponsors.
Leverage and grow hands-on skills with software design and development, engaging in the full software engineering lifecycle using modern technologies.
Gain experience with one or more of the following: Cloud Engineering, DevSecOps, Full-Stack Development, Embedded Systems and Internet of Things, Practical Applications of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
