Software Engineering Intern
About The Position
First Databank (FDB) is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience and demonstrate aptitude across a variety of real-world projects. Interns typically rotate between three or more projects during their time at FDB, with each project requiring skills in a different area. The internship is based in FDB’s Carmel, Indiana office. AI-assisted development is an integral part of FDB’s engineering process. Interns are expected to actively incorporate modern AI coding tools and agents, such as Claude Code, Cursor, and ChatGPT, into their development workflow to design, build, test, and troubleshoot software. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to healthcare information technology that turns drug and medical device data into knowledge used by healthcare organizations and decision-makers.
Requirements
- Computer Science or Software Engineering major.
- Completion of junior year.
- Minimum GPA of 3.4.
- Willingness to actively incorporate AI coding tools and agents into the development workflow.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience using AI coding assistants or agents in academic, personal, or professional projects.
