About The Position

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join their Avionics Test Engineering team in Burnsville, Minnesota, for the period of May through August 2027. This internship offers an opportunity to gain experience in the aerospace industry by working on various test solutions throughout their lifecycle. The role involves designing and developing test software, generating requirements, validating and verifying test solutions, troubleshooting software issues, and updating documentation. Interns will be exposed to the development life cycle of aerospace products and test systems in a manufacturing environment, learn to identify and propose modernization of test equipment, and collaborate with a team to solve complex manufacturing design problems.

Requirements

• Student pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an engineering discipline.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

• Strong background in software engineering and/or computer science.
• Basic understanding of Electronics and Electrical Design.

Responsibilities

• Assist in researching, developing, designing, and testing electrical components, equipment, and systems via test software.
• Resolve day-to-day technical problems by troubleshooting software problems on the production line.
• Develop test software per requirements and ensure complete validation and verification before releasing to production.
