The fab2 team is building the software that silicon chip designers should have had 20 years ago. Current chip design involves stitching together old desktop software, and fab2 aims to improve this by creating a fast, browser-based, multiplayer platform called Studio for designing and assembling whole chips. Studio integrates schematic capture, physical layout, and simulation into a single application, eliminating the need for users to install anything or leave the app. The goal is to make chip design fast, intuitive, and powerful, similar to Figma but for silicon. The platform is built using Rust, compiled to WebAssembly, with custom rendering via wgpu/WebGPU, supporting both native and browser environments. This role is a full-stack position, working end-to-end on the application itself, with interns owning major features from design through shipping and touching the entire stack.
