About The Position

Cigna-Evernorth Services Inc. is hiring a Software Engineering Advisor for its Morris Plains, New Jersey location. The role creates detailed specifications and designs, conducts assurance reviews of peer application programming, and serves as a technical resource for less experienced team members. The position contributes to product development, technical design, and solution implementation, including building batch and online adjustment claim systems and developing and supporting customized applications. The role works with offshore vendors, HIH team members, business and finance operations stakeholders, TPOs, and QA teams to gather requirements, analyze needs, design and develop solutions, resolve deficiencies, and support end-to-end testing. It also troubleshoots and maintains applications, performs impact and root-cause analyses, supports defect resolution in testing environments, and conducts stress-test analysis. The position has a hybrid work schedule. Occasional or permanent work from home requires cable broadband or fiber internet with speeds of at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience.
Experience with Mainframes, COBOL, DB2, Teradata, CICS (Customer Information Control System), Pega, GitHub, Endevor, Claude.ai, and AWS Kiro.

Responsibilities

Ensure the quality and timeliness of product development, technical design, and solution implementation as a development team member.
Coordinate with offshore vendors and HIH team members, and work with business, finance operations, and TPO stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct analysis, and design, develop, and enhance customized applications.
Create technical designs and solutions for clients and businesses.
Build batch and online adjustment claim systems.
Partner with QA teams to address solution-design deficiencies and related deliverables.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and develop application and system solutions for business-mandated products and regular operational processes.
Perform impact analysis to address user queries; modify existing applications; and provide implementation support and stakeholder training as necessary.
Interact with QA testers to provide information that helps distinguish defects from setup issues in end-to-end testing.
Conduct root-cause analysis of issues in the test and quality environments during SIT and quality testing, and assist with fixing defects.
Perform stress-test analysis and report product deviations or malfunctions within software releases.
Create detailed specifications and designs, review peers’ application programming for assurance, and serve as a technical resource for less experienced team members.
