About The Position

RVO Health is hiring a Software Engineer for its Red Platform team. The role leads the end-to-end design, development, and implementation of sophisticated software applications and systems aligned with business goals. The engineer works closely with product managers, designers, other engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs and solutions. The position includes writing maintainable and scalable code, debugging complex defects and performance bottlenecks, testing software, reviewing code, mentoring engineers, and improving development processes and tools. The role is based in Fort Mill, South Carolina, in the Charlotte metro area, with a hybrid schedule: employees work in the office Tuesday through Thursday and may work remotely Monday and Friday. RVO Health is a healthcare technology company focused on making health easier to navigate, more accessible, and more affordable. The company says its work reaches over 40 million people each month. The position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and substantial software development experience, including expert-level Go experience. The company does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
At least 3 years of software development experience focused on large-scale applications.
At least 3 years of expert-level experience with Go and hands-on experience with other programming languages such as Python and TypeScript.
At least 2 years of experience with event-driven architecture such as Kafka; datastores such as Postgres, Dynamo, or Nebula; and working knowledge of CI/CD and infrastructure as code (IaC).
Deep understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience with software testing.
Experience using AI for code generation.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Previous experience with healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
Previous experience with Customer Data Platforms.
Full-stack programming experience using modern technologies, including Node.js and TypeScript, relational databases such as Postgres, REST APIs, and NoSQL.

Responsibilities
