About The Position

The Software Engineer will develop software for embedded devices and systems from requirements through production and support. This role involves leading significant software features, integrations, and technical execution activities across the development life cycle. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional team members to develop operational performance requirements, interface software and hardware components, and collaborate on system design. Responsibilities include supporting and participating in all phases of the software development life cycle, contributing to software test plans and documentation, and participating in peer reviews to identify and repair defects. The role also requires collaboration with a cross-functional engineering team to define technical direction and utilization of various software languages and tools on Windows, Linux, and embedded real-time operating systems. Additionally, the engineer will support software bids and proposal inputs.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Degree preference in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced proficiency with C++.
  • Experience working with Department of Defense programs.
  • Experience with object-oriented software development using C++.
  • Experience with embedded real-time software development in Linux.
  • Experience with high-performance and multi-threaded programming.
  • Demonstrated depth of knowledge in programming languages, compilers, and application execution.
  • Experience with hands-on software development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
  • Experience in embedded systems design.
  • Working knowledge of signal processing, control systems, electronic warfare, or networking.
  • Knowledge of protocols such as IP, UDP, TCP, and Protobufs.
