About The Position

Walmart is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions aligned with platform and business objectives. This role involves full lifecycle development, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance of services, APIs, and user interfaces. The successful candidate will integrate AI/ML components, apply sound technical judgment, and collaborate across teams to address complex challenges. The Sam's Club Loyalty team develops and delivers systems engaging over 35 million members annually through cashback rewards and personalized renewal journeys. This technology-driven team leverages data experimentation, behavioral economics, and real-time personalization to enhance membership value and satisfaction. Focused on continuous improvement and innovation, the team applies advanced technologies to create impactful experiences that support business growth and member engagement. Requirements

  • Extensive experience in software development with proficiency in languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Rust, Dart, and C++.
  • Strong expertise in object-oriented programming, code review, debugging, and documentation-based coding practices.
  • Proven ability to deliver scoped features and models through collaborative, iterative development and continuous integration.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance development efficiency.
  • Demonstrated skills in solution design, technical leadership, and applying scalable, maintainable software architecture.
  • Ability to translate complex business problems into actionable technical requirements and measurable outcomes.
  • Commitment to engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and effective cross-team collaboration.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of scoped features and models through collaborative engineering teams, ensuring alignment with platform and system objectives.
  • Develop, test, and maintain high-quality, efficient code across multiple programming languages, supporting full software development lifecycle and CI/CD processes.
  • Integrate AI/ML components and leverage generative AI tools to enhance software capabilities and development efficiency.
  • Participate in solution design, conduct code reviews, and apply best practices for scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes.
  • Monitor application performance, support defect resolution, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor peers and contribute to knowledge sharing and engineering excellence.
