About The Position

As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the delivery of scalable, high-quality software solutions by managing feature implementation, testing, and ongoing support. You will apply advanced programming skills and technical judgment to design and develop robust systems, integrating AI/ML components to enhance functionality. Collaborating across teams, you will translate complex business needs into effective technical solutions while promoting engineering excellence and continuous improvement. Our team develops reusable technologies that enhance customer acquisition, onboarding, and merchant empowerment across in-store, mobile app, and website channels. Requirements

  • Proven experience in building full stack applications using Typescript, NextJs, React, GraphQL, NodeJS and API development.
  • Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
  • Strong experience delivering scoped features and managing full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Proficiency in debugging, code review, and continuous development to ensure high-quality software.
  • Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions aligned with platform and business objectives.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance development.
  • Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into actionable technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated technical judgment, adaptability, and commitment to engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities

  • Own scoped feature and model delivery through collaborative engineering teams, managing implementation, iteration, testing, and support.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reliable code across multiple languages, driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Integrate AI and ML components to enhance software intelligence and leverage generative AI tools to improve development velocity.
  • Assist in converting high-level designs into detailed, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned with platform standards.
  • Engage stakeholders to translate complex problems into technical requirements and define success metrics.
  • Monitor application performance and ensure adherence to project milestones through proactive DevOps practices.
  • Promote continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and technical mentorship within the team.
