About The Position

As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will drive the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment, while integrating advanced AI and machine learning components. This role requires strong technical judgment, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving to meet business objectives. You will mentor peers, contribute to innovation, and ensure high-quality outcomes that enhance platform performance and customer experience within a dynamic, product-focused environment. Our team develops reusable technologies that enhance customer acquisition, onboarding, and merchant empowerment, ensuring seamless experiences across in-store, mobile app, and website channels. Requirements

  • Proven expertise in full stack software development with proficiency in languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Rust and API development.
  • Proven experience in in managing complex system architecture and scaling.
  • Strong experience in code review, debugging, and delivering scoped features through iterative and incremental development.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices to ensure maintainability and modularity.
  • Ability to integrate AI/ML components and leverage generative AI tools to enhance development efficiency.
  • Demonstrated skills in solution design, technical leadership, and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, automated testing, CI/CD deployment, and monitoring for high-quality software delivery.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities
