About The Position
24-MAG LLC is offering a full-time, fully remote opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career Software Engineer. The role contributes to modern internal platforms and AI-powered applications, working alongside experienced engineers to develop production-ready software features, backend services, and frontend interfaces. It provides experience across the software development lifecycle, including application architecture, database design, testing, deployment, and technical collaboration, with opportunities to take increasing ownership of core systems and product capabilities. The position focuses on full-stack development using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL. Projects may support internal engineering platforms, operational workflows, recruiting applications, and AI-powered products. Deliverables include production-ready features, maintainable application code, technical documentation, and tested implementations. Technical mentorship, collaboration, and increasing ownership of software components are integral to the role.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Recent graduate or currently approaching graduation.
- Practical software development experience through internships, cooperative education, research, or substantial personal projects.
- Strong understanding of JavaScript and/or TypeScript fundamentals.
- Familiarity with frontend development using React or a comparable framework.
- Experience or foundational knowledge of backend development using Node.js.
- Understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
- Foundational knowledge of database schema design and data modelling principles.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and communication between distributed application components.
- Experience using Git and modern software development workflows.
- Understanding of fundamental software engineering principles and maintainable code practices.
- Strong analytical thinking, debugging skills, and technical problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with automated testing, code reviews, and software documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and implementation of end-to-end software features for internal platforms.
- Build functional, maintainable applications using modern frontend and backend technologies.
- Participate in technical planning and implementation discussions with experienced engineers.
- Take increasing ownership of application features and technical deliverables as experience grows.
- Develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces using React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Implement frontend components for internal workflows and operational applications, and integrate them with backend services and APIs.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to translate requirements into functional features while maintaining code quality, usability, and consistency.
- Develop and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js and related technologies.
- Contribute to application logic, service integrations, and internal platform functionality.
- Work with relational databases, including PostgreSQL, and participate in database schema design, data modelling, and query performance improvements.
- Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and technical documentation.
- Investigate defects and contribute to troubleshooting production issues.
- Support improvements to application reliability, monitoring, and system observability.
- Learn and contribute to deployment, debugging, and continuous integration workflows.
- Evaluate engineering trade-offs involving implementation speed, scalability, and maintainability.
- Contribute to internal tools and workflows supporting engineering, operations, and recruiting activities.
