Full Stack Software Engineer, New Grad - Quora (Remote)
About The Position
Quora is hiring a new graduate Software Engineer for its Quora Core Product team. The role can be performed remotely from anywhere in the US or Canada, subject to country-specific employment eligibility. The engineer will help evolve the Quora user experience and build systems that make sharing knowledge rewarding and discovery easy for millions of users. Work spans product growth, content moderation, AI-generated content, creator experience, and community engagement. The role uses data and experimentation to shape features, and involves driving projects from ideation through production in collaboration with designers, product managers, engineers, and data scientists. Engineers also participate in the team’s on-call rotation to support product reliability and quality. Candidates must be 2025 or 2026 graduates, or pursuing a relevant technical degree, and must be available for coordination hours Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Pacific Time.
Requirements
- Be a 2025 or 2026 graduate, or be pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Foundational understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design through coursework or practical experience.
- Experience with Python or a similar programming language, or the ability to learn them quickly.
- Availability for meetings and impromptu communication during Quora’s coordination hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Pacific Time.
- Passion for learning and continuously improving yourself and the team around you.
Nice To Haves
- Previous software engineering experience through an internship, work experience, and/or coding competition.
- Familiarity with Python, React, TypeScript, and/or SQL.
- Passion for Quora’s mission and goals.
- Curiosity about AI and hands-on experience exploring AI tools or building AI-powered projects through coursework, personal projects, or previous work experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop full-stack applications with Python and React.
- Contribute to core product projects that drive growth, ensure healthy moderation, and empower creators.
- Design and launch product features at massive scale, using data and experimentation to guide iterations.
- Drive projects from ideation to production using the full technology stack.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, fellow engineers, and data scientists to prototype and implement functionality and analyze impact.
- Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to help ensure a reliable, high-quality product.
