About The Position

Freedom Technology Solutions Group has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer in a team-based Agile environment located in VA! This role involves providing full software build, including front and back-end systems and sub-systems, utilizing Agile methodologies with user stories and requirements backlog managed in sprints. The engineer will be responsible for coordinating activities to complete each story, performing development in accordance with customer regulations and policies, and optimizing application interface designs based on usability and accessibility standards. Key duties include creating and maintaining engineering documentation, monitoring and responding to system alarms, assessing mission partner requirements, and supporting other software development functions as needed.

Requirements

  • Active security clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full software build to include front and back-end system and sub-system
  • Use Agile methodologies to include user stories and requirements backlog captured in an enterprise provided tool and managed in no more than 2–3-week sprints.
  • Responsible for the coordination of all activities required to complete each story.
  • Perform development activities in accordance with the customers regulations and policies to include but not limited to delivering work in increments during each sprint, with regular demonstrations and feedback sessions to validate progress.
  • Apply knowledge of usability and accessibility standards, user research, and user-centered design principles to optimize application interface designs.
  • Perform development activities in accordance with the customers regulations regarding accessibility standards for Information Technology as codified by the Accessibility Standards and Accessibility Test Criteria.
  • Create, update and maintain engineering and support documentation, as approved by the customer, for assigned projects and programs for the lifespan of all projects and services.
  • Monitor and take responsive actions on application and support environment level alarms and audit
  • Assess mission partner requirements, identify dependencies, gaps, and develop responsive project plans approved by the customer.
  • Support other software development functions as required by the customer.
