About The Position

Wyetech is hiring a Software Engineer Skill Level 1 to develop, maintain, integrate, and enhance mission-critical software applications and cloud-based data processing solutions. The role uses Python and PySpark for software development and distributed data processing, with AWS services—particularly Lambda, Glue, and DynamoDB—to support scalable application and data workflows. The engineer works with software engineers, systems engineers, and technical stakeholders to analyze requirements, troubleshoot defects, optimize performance, and integrate solutions into supported systems and operating environments. The position includes software design and implementation, data processing and database integration, cloud development, testing and debugging, system integration, and technical documentation. The engineer may serve as a team lead when appropriate to the development process and assigned responsibilities. Candidates must meet the Software Engineer Skill Level 1 labor-category requirements. The posting lists either a relevant bachelor's degree and seven years of similar-scope software engineering experience, or an experience-substitution option involving eleven years of qualifying experience. It also describes an additional contract-specific cloud and big-data experience requirement whose applicability to this opening should be confirmed. An active TS/SCI clearance with an in-scope Full Scope Polygraph completed within the past seven years is required. U.S. citizenship is required, and employees must maintain applicable clearance and program access requirements. The listed hourly pay range is $64.64–$77.91; actual compensation may vary based on contract rates, education, experience, skills, certifications, and location. The posting mentions various contract and work locations, but does not specify a workplace type for this opening.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated software development experience using Python and experience developing software using PySpark.
  • Hands-on PySpark experience with distributed data processing, transformation, and analysis.
  • Experience developing and supporting applications utilizing AWS, including developing, configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting AWS Lambda functions.
  • Experience developing and maintaining AWS Glue jobs for data-processing and integration workflows.
  • Experience working with Amazon DynamoDB, including data access, queries, and application integration.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing software applications based on documented requirements, and modifying software components to add features and functionality.
  • Experience debugging software defects, troubleshooting application issues, and implementing corrective solutions.
  • Experience integrating software components into existing or modified systems and operating environments.
  • Experience developing queries for databases and data repositories.
  • Experience designing and implementing algorithms to meet functional and performance requirements.
  • Experience testing software components and documenting test results.
  • Experience analyzing system performance, data usage, and application workflows to develop software solutions.
  • Experience preparing and maintaining software and system documentation.
  • Experience supporting distributed data processing or cloud-based data engineering environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively within a software engineering team.
  • Meet Software Engineer Skill Level 1 labor-category requirements: either a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university and seven years of software engineering experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity; or the experience-substitution option of eleven years of qualifying experience. The posting states that four additional years of similar-process software engineering experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph completed within the past seven years and in scope.
  • U.S. citizenship; must maintain applicable security clearance and program access requirements throughout employment.
