As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the delivery of scalable software solutions by managing feature development, testing, and ongoing support within collaborative teams. You will contribute to solution design, technical leadership, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure alignment with business objectives. The team leads Walmart’s talent acquisition technology, supporting recruitment for 2.4 million associates across all levels. Requirements

  • Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
  • Strong experience delivering scoped features or models through collaborative engineering teams.
  • Proficiency in debugging, code review, and continuous development with a focus on quality and reliability.
  • Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems aligned with platform standards.
  • Skilled in integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance development.
  • Demonstrated capability in driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to engage stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, mentorship, and promoting engineering excellence.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities

  • Own scoped feature and model delivery through collaborative engineering teams, managing implementation, testing, and support.
  • Write clean and reliable code across multiple languages, driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Integrate AI components to enhance software intelligence and leverage generative AI tools to improve development velocity.
  • Assist in converting high-level designs into detailed, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned with platform objectives.
  • Engage stakeholders to define technical requirements and success metrics, ensuring solutions meet user and business needs.
  • Monitor application performance and maintain system reliability through proactive testing and continuous integration.
  • Mentor peers, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to innovation and improvement initiatives.
