About The Position

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the delivery of scalable software solutions by managing feature implementation, testing, and ongoing support within collaborative teams. This role requires expertise in software development lifecycle, including coding, debugging, and continuous integration, while integrating AI/ML components to enhance platform capabilities. You will contribute to solution design, technical leadership, and stakeholder collaboration to ensure alignment with business objectives. The position emphasizes innovation, quality, and operational excellence, supporting system performance and driving continuous improvement across products and processes. About the team: The Transportation team develops advanced products and technologies that support Walmart’s Supply Chain by enabling efficient delivery to warehouses, stores, and customers. The team builds and maintains high-performance, highly available applications and systems that generate shipping labels and manifests, facilitating goods movement via third-party carriers. This supports Walmart Marketplace sellers, Walmart Fulfillment Services, and warehouses in shipping millions of products daily. The technology stack includes React, Java microservices with Spring Boot, Azure SQL, Kafka, Cosmos, ElasticSearch, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring robust and scalable solutions for critical logistics operations.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
  • Strong technical acumen with experience in code review, debugging, and continuous development.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver scoped features or models through collaborative engineering teams.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance software solutions.
  • Proficiency in managing full software development lifecycle including CI/CD, automated testing, and observability.
  • Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software aligned with platform and business objectives.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to engage stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and technical ownership.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities
