About The Position

Trace3 is seeking a Software Engineer for its GAITS Analyst Team to analyze real-world data related to Missile Defense and Space Domain Awareness. Working as part of an Agile Scrum team, the engineer will develop and complete features and user stories aligned with program objectives. The role involves collecting and interpreting real-world data, developing algorithms to use that data effectively, and updating existing algorithms as new data becomes available. This is a full-time, on-site position in Colorado Springs, Colorado, performed in a secure, classified workspace. Employees must follow applicable security protocols and access-control procedures, including restrictions on personal electronic devices and handling sensitive information. A Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.

Requirements

Strong analytical background, including the ability to filter data and predict future states of ballistic missile threats.
Experience in performance analysis and characterization of large-scale, complex system simulations focused on ballistic missile threats, weapon systems, and command and control architectures.
Knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices, including system design, development, testing, and evaluation.
Knowledge of ballistic missile systems and associated command and control systems.
Working or theoretical knowledge of ballistic or non-ballistic missile defense concepts, including BM/C2 systems, defense communication systems, and the Missile Defense System (MDS).
Strong foundation in mathematics and physics.
Experience using MATLAB to support analysis of complex data.
Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of experience, or a master's degree with at least 1 year of experience.
Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Nice To Haves

Data analytics skills, including collecting, analyzing, and filtering large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform predictions of future ballistic missile threat states.
Experience analyzing and characterizing ballistic missile threats, including threat systems, tactics, techniques, and procedures, and predicting future threat states based on trends and patterns.
Ability to integrate and analyze data from diverse sources to inform predictive models and simulations.
Specific knowledge of one or more MDS elements, such as C2BMC, AN/TPY-2, LRDR, BOA, SBIRS, GMB, Aegis BMD, and PATRIOT.
Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems.
Experience with Agile Scrum and continuous integration methodologies.
Experience with scenario generation to support analysis and testing of missile defense systems.
