About The Position

The Torque Team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer operating at or near a Lead Engineer level to deliver, support, and strategically evolve an enterprise platform that enables secure, governed data access. The role prioritizes platform engineering experience over traditional data engineering and focuses on building and operating secure, scalable platform services, including APIs, access management, and infrastructure automation.

This position combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership. The successful candidate will build and support platform capabilities and help determine effective, efficient delivery approaches, considering enterprise-wide scale, security, governance, and platform sustainability. Candidates must be able to code hands-on; a technical coding assessment is part of the interview process.

The position has a stated duration of 12 months.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in software, cloud, or platform engineering.
• Software engineering experience with platform engineering; traditional data engineering experience alone is not the target.
• Strong hands-on coding skills in Python; candidates must complete a technical coding assessment.
• Experience with AWS services, access and security, IAM, Secrets Manager, API Gateway, Lake Formation access policy enforcement, Entra AD, Lambda, Kubernetes, EKS, Docker, Open Table Format S3 (Iceberg), RDS/PostgreSQL, Redshift, Glue (Catalog, ETL, Crawler), and Athena.
• Experience with Terraform Enterprise, Infrastructure as Code, and Git.
