About The Position

Walmart is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions that align with business objectives. The successful candidate will collaborate across teams to address technical challenges, implement continuous integration and deployment practices, and contribute to product strategy. About Team: Identity Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization. The Walmart Identity Platform team delivers a streamlined solution for managing user authentication, authorization, and customer data management. The team focuses on designing scalable, secure, and high-quality software components through iterative development and continuous integration. Members collaborate to address complex technical challenges, ensuring alignment with business objectives and product strategy. Emphasizing technical acumen and problem-solving, the team drives innovation in platform design and development while maintaining rigorous standards for code quality and testing. This environment supports growth through knowledge sharing and the adoption of emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Experience in Java Backend, Web and Native platforms
  • Ability to design high-performance systems with a focus on scalability, resilience, and fault tolerance.
  • Deep understanding of authentication, authorization, protocols (e.g., OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML), and identity federation concepts.
  • Proficient in secure coding practices to protect sensitive user data and prevent vulnerabilities like token exploits, credential theft, or injection attacks.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and influence technical decision-making across the organization.
  • Hands-on experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, React, JS, Java, NodeJS, Javascript) and tools/frameworks commonly used in identity systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and classify requirements, including functional and non-functional, to align with business objectives.
  • Design scalable software solutions by evaluating trade-offs and converting high-level designs into detailed functional logic.
  • Develop, configure, and maintain testable, secure, and maintainable code adhering to coding standards and best practices.
  • Use GenAI technologies to increase daily productivity (creating MCP servers)
