Software Engineer, DNS & Cloud Infrastructure

Salesforce•Seattle, WA
•$117,200 - $194,200

About The Position

Salesforce’s Public Cloud engineering teams build and maintain large-scale distributed systems that deliver features to tens of millions of users. The platform is expected to be highly reliable, fast, secure, and able to preserve customer customizations and integrations. The role calls for experience with concurrency, large-scale systems, data management, high availability, and the design, development, and optimization of backend systems. The Software Engineer will deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows, and validation platforms; develop and operate resilient distributed systems across compute nodes and data centers; contribute to open-source technology; and develop Infrastructure-as-Code and microservices using containerization frameworks. The engineer will resolve complex technical issues, improve availability, resilience, and performance, balance live-site operations with feature delivery and technical-debt retirement, and participate in an on-call rotation.

  • At least 3 years of backend software development experience with Python working with cloud architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux systems administration and troubleshooting, servers, and cloud architecture; good knowledge of Linux internals.
  • Professional Python experience and in-depth understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.
  • Public cloud engineering experience on GCP, AWS, and/or Azure, including cloud provisioning, infrastructure, and migration at cloud scale.
  • Use of AI-assisted development tools to automate DNS and infrastructure management.
  • Understanding of configuring, deploying, managing, and maintaining large cloud-hosted systems.
  • Experience with container and orchestration systems such as Kubernetes and Docker.
