About The Position

The Software Engineer works as part of a team creating and implementing technology for Light & Wonder’s internal products and customer-focused innovation. The role designs, develops, tests, and integrates software products alongside a global team of engineers. The position may also involve other job-related tasks and responsibilities beyond those listed.

Requirements

• Demonstrable knowledge of C# and C++.
• Knowledge of client-server architecture fundamentals.
• Demonstrable knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and principles.
• Familiarity with database architecture.
• Comfort using software development tools such as IDEs, compilers, debuggers, profilers, and version control systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Excellent teamwork skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.

Nice To Haves

• Gaming industry experience is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrable knowledge of writing SQL queries.
• Familiarity with web UI design.
• Knowledge of operating system fundamentals.
• Knowledge of PowerShell.
• Familiarity with development tools such as Visual Studio, Perforce, Git, and Jira.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team to develop features and functionality for Light & Wonder products, utilities, and tools.
• Research technologies to modernize and improve existing products.
• Refactor, improve, and optimize existing code.
• Design and build libraries for use by other Light & Wonder products.
• Apply secure coding guidelines, test-driven development, and continuous integration practices.
• Use debugging skills to resolve bugs and issues promptly.
