About The Position

Meta is seeking experienced engineers to join its Central Growth team, which is responsible for maximizing user growth across Meta apps and devices. The team builds and optimizes centralized growth capabilities—including access and identity, notifications, friending, cross-app linking, onboarding, SEO, and global distribution partnerships—and owns platforms that unify Meta’s family of apps under a single Meta Account. The work has global reach and measurable impact, and increasingly involves building AI-native systems that help growth scale across new products.

Requirements

At least 8 years of programming experience in a relevant language, or at least 4 years of experience with a Ph.D.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Programming experience in a relevant language.
Demonstrated experience driving organizational change and leading complex technical projects.
Experience using data and analysis to explain technical problems and provide detailed feedback and solutions.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 years of relevant experience building large-scale infrastructure applications, or similar experience.
Experience improving quality through thoughtful code reviews, appropriate testing, proper rollout, monitoring, and proactive changes.
Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, or Java, and scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Hack.
Ability to integrate AI tools to optimize or redesign workflows and drive measurable impact, such as efficiency gains or quality improvements.
Experience implementing responsible, ethical AI practices, including risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality and accuracy reviews.
Ongoing AI skill development, such as prompt or context engineering and agent orchestration, and staying current with emerging AI technologies.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with product, design, operations, and infrastructure teams to build application experiences.
Implement custom user interfaces using current programming techniques and technologies.
Analyze and optimize code for quality, efficiency, and performance, and provide feedback to peers in code reviews.
Set team direction and goals, lead major initiatives, provide technical guidance and mentorship, and help onboard team members.
Architect efficient, scalable systems for complex applications.
Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues, and lead efforts to reduce technical debt.
Work with a variety of coding languages and technologies.
Take ownership of components, features, or systems and develop expert end-to-end understanding.
