About The Position

Meta is seeking experienced engineers for its Central Growth team, which maximizes user growth across Meta apps and devices. The team builds and optimizes centralized capabilities—including access and identity, notifications, friending, cross-app linking, onboarding, SEO, and global distribution partnerships—and owns platforms that unify Meta’s apps under a single Meta Account. The work focuses on high-impact products and platforms used at global scale, with increasing emphasis on AI-native systems that can support growth across new Meta products. The role provides technical leadership across large-scale product systems and engineering organizations. It sets long-term technical direction, solves complex cross-system problems, establishes shared engineering foundations and excellence practices, leads organization-wide initiatives, and mentors and develops engineers. The role also works with compliance and policy partners to address privacy, security, and integrity concerns. The stated annual salary range is $271,000 to $347,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

Requirements

12+ years of experience building large-scale applications, or similar experience.
12+ years of programming experience.
8+ years of experience with web or mobile technologies.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience communicating and working across functions to drive solutions.
Experience driving large cross-functional or industry-wide engineering efforts.
Experience mentoring or influencing engineers across organizations.
Experience leading projects with industry-wide impact.
Proven track record of planning a multi-year roadmap in which shorter-term projects support the long-term vision.

Responsibilities

Define and drive multi-year technical vision and architecture for large-scale product systems, ensuring reliability, extensibility, and adaptability to business needs.
Identify and solve complex, cross-cutting engineering problems across systems, abstraction layers, and organizational boundaries.
Establish extensible technical foundations, coding standards, and architectural patterns to improve consistency and delivery velocity.
Lead cross-functional execution of organization-wide technical initiatives, aligning stakeholders, managing dependencies, and delivering against milestones and metrics.
Develop and operationalize engineering excellence programs, including reliability standards, performance guardrails, and quality frameworks adopted across teams.
Understand privacy, security, and integrity vulnerabilities in product systems and build technical safeguards with compliance and policy partners.
Mentor engineers across the organization through feedback, coaching, and technical guidance on challenging system and feature design problems.
Communicate technical strategies and trade-offs to audiences ranging from individual contributors to executive leadership, creating durable reference materials.
Identify systemic issues and recurring failure patterns, and develop invariants and architectural improvements to prevent classes of problems.
Recruit and develop engineers, modeling technical and cultural standards that strengthen the broader engineering community.
