Software Engineer, Performance Engineering Optimization

Aurora•Mountain View, CA
•$116,000 - $174,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Aurora is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Performance Engineering Optimization (PEO) team. The team helps reduce onboard software latency and improve hardware utilization by building production-level performance tools and processes, enabling rapid performance experimentation through data-driven feedback, identifying and diagnosing software and hardware performance problems, and helping autonomy engineers understand cause-and-effect relationships between onboard events. In this role, you will build tooling to probe, collect, and process large volumes of performance data from vehicles and simulations. You will design, build, and maintain robust, cost-effective data pipelines and processing systems that ingest and transform data from multiple sources into a warehouse, supporting downstream performance visualization and analysis tools. You will collaborate with engineers across Aurora, including teams in Autonomy, Sensing, and Vehicle Platform Infrastructure, on optimization efforts. Aurora expects employees to work from the office at least three days per week, with some roles requiring up to five days based on operational needs. The position offers a base salary range of $116,000 to $174,000 per year, with eligibility for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
