About The Position

SureSwift Capital is hiring an AI-native Experienced Intermediate Software Engineer to build Tradervue, a trading journal used by individual traders and proprietary trading firms to review and improve their trading. Tradervue has a loyal user base and is entering its next stage of growth. The engineer will own work in the Ruby on Rails application from idea through production, including customer-facing features, broker and platform trade imports, integrations, and AI features that help traders understand their trading. The team works AI-first, using Claude Code connected to code, tickets, and monitoring. AI generates much of the code, while the engineer is responsible for reviewing, testing, explaining, and deciding what ships. The role works alongside another senior engineer, with two engineers sharing production responsibilities and learning from each other. It reports to the GM, who leads the product. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week remote role open anywhere in Canada. The engineer must overlap at least four hours daily with Brasília time (UTC−3). Living near Victoria, British Columbia is a plus because an office is available for collaboration. Compensation is CAD $90,000–$120,000 per year, with extended health and dental benefits from day one. The hiring process includes a 30-minute recruiter call, a conversation with the GM, a 90-minute session with the senior engineer that includes a live exercise using the candidate’s usual AI tools on a shared screen, and reference checks. The company may use AI tools to help organize applications, but a person reviews every application and makes every decision.
