About The Position

Eventual is a seed-stage fintech startup tackling one of the biggest challenges in American housing: rising and unpredictable insurance costs driven by climate volatility. Our flagship product, Premium Lock, gives property owners a guaranteed outlook on their insurance costs for multiple years, helping them plan with confidence in a changing climate. We're backed by top-tier investors and working with agents, real estate investors, and homeowners nationwide.

The Role We're looking for a software engineer who's excited to build and ship across the full stack. You'll work closely with design, data science, and product to deliver features end-to-end, from backend APIs and data pipelines to frontend interfaces our customers use every day. It's a high-ownership role with real impact on a live product.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building and shipping production software
• Comfortable working across the stack, or strong in one area with willingness to stretch
• Solid fundamentals in Python and/or TypeScript or equivalent
• Experience with relational databases and clean API design
• Works well with autonomy and takes ownership over end-to-end delivery

• Experience at an early-stage company or on a 0→1 product

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs in FastAPI and PostgreSQL
• Develop frontend components and flows in Next.js and Tailwind
• Translate Figma designs into responsive, accessible interfaces
• Integrate with external services including Stripe, Auth0, and Canopy Connect
• Own features end-to-end: design, build, test, deploy, support
• Help shape engineering practices and architecture as the team scales
