About The Position

Cisco Secure Common Services Platform Engineering is part of Cisco's Security Business Group and builds foundational services for products across Cisco Security Cloud. The team develops Common Provisioning, Identity and Access Management, Common Objects Service, Posture Service, and Policy Service, helping Cisco security products use shared models for security objects, posture, and policy. The work involves Go microservices, event-driven Kafka pipelines, and Kubernetes/EKS infrastructure, with engineers owning problems end-to-end. The team is advancing the use of AI/ML while addressing distributed-systems challenges including multi-tenant isolation, cycle-safe hierarchy resolution, and high-throughput event distribution. The Software Engineer designs and builds core Common Services Platform components and/or solutions for scalable, secure, resilient cloud-native deployments. The role partners with Product Management on requirements and planning, collaborates across teams on end-to-end functionality and integration, develops prototypes to validate approaches, contributes to system design and implementation, and mentors peers and engineering interns.
