Software Engineer | Aerospace & Defense

Texas Instruments•Dallas, TX

About The Position

Texas Instruments Software Engineers work primarily on embedded software, including device firmware, peripheral drivers, software frameworks, algorithms, and software development tools such as compilers, simulators, demo software, and IDEs. They contribute to TI’s whole-product offerings by making products easier to use and helping customers get them up and running quickly. The role partners closely with product development and demand creation teams on pre-silicon software design and requirements, software validation, and testing. It also considers backward and cross-compatibility and software reuse. Software Engineers may work directly with customers to address issues and provide ongoing support through regular software releases, quality assurance, and release management. In the Aerospace & Defense context, the role involves embedded firmware and signal-processing work, with opportunities to develop and optimize algorithms for edge applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant engineering or research experience.
  • Strong embedded firmware skills and experience, including programming in C/C++ or other systems programming languages.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for signal-processing applications, including strong assembly programming skills.
  • U.S. citizenship; the posting states that only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
