About The Position

Siemens EDA is seeking a Senior/Principal Software Engineer for its Questa Sim (Simulation) R&D team. The role involves conceptualizing, architecting, and implementing algorithms and software designs for simulation technology, developing and enhancing production-quality components, algorithms, and engines, and supporting existing codebases. The engineer will collaborate with senior engineers to address complex software problems and work with Mil-Aero customers to develop fit-for-purpose technical flows. The position is listed as hybrid and is associated with Austin, Texas.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on complex engineering applications.
• Experience conceptualizing, defining, architecting, and implementing solutions for open-ended problem scopes or new ideas.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and in-depth understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Expertise in compiler concepts and optimizations.
• Experience working on UNIX and/or Linux platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and deliver high-quality results.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.

Nice To Haves

• Basic knowledge of digital electronics and concepts related to SystemVerilog, Verilog, and VHDL.
• Familiarity with parallel algorithms and job distribution techniques.
• Exposure to simulation- or formal-based verification methodologies.
