About The Position

BAE Systems is seeking a Software Engineer to support the evolution of a critical collaboration software platform. The role involves working directly with user communities and customer leadership to translate mission needs into technical requirements, influence the platform’s architecture, and demonstrate new features to stakeholders. The engineer will work with a team delivering capabilities for the client and associated contractors, initiate improvements to build pipelines and test automation, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• Nine years of experience in Software or Systems Engineering. A bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of experience; a master's degree may substitute for six years.
• Proven frontend development experience using JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Proficiency building secure, reliable web applications hosted on Linux servers.
• Experience managing and querying relational database systems, such as PostgreSQL.
• Expertise in Git workflows, continuous integration (CI), and DevOps practices.

Nice To Haves

• Experience developing PHP-based web applications.
• Proficiency with modern frontend frameworks such as Vue, Angular, or React.
• Experience with NoSQL or document-based databases such as Elasticsearch.
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and User Experience (UX) design.
• Experience applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices within Agile/Scrum teams.
• Strong technical documentation and presentation skills.
• TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• DoD 8570-compliant IAT Level II certificate or equivalent.
