About The Position

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Irving, TX or Chandler, AZ. This is an 18+ month contract opportunity. This role involves maintaining and merging a suite of applications for currency transaction reporting. The ideal candidate will work on stabilizing the front end with React, while utilizing a core technology stack of Java and Spring Boot. The position also offers exposure to data pipelines using Python and Spark within an Agile environment, with a mandatory hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office.

Requirements

2+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, or education
2+ years of experience working with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices
Hands-on experience with React.js and modern front-end development frameworks
Good understanding of software design patterns, secure coding practices, and application performance optimization
Awareness of Python and its usage in automation, scripting, or data processing
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional distributed teams

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform, preferably GCP
Experience with OCP/Kubernetes
Knowledge of Spark

Responsibilities

Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements within Software Engineering
Review and analyze tactical Software Engineering assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives
Present recommendations for resolving low to moderately complex situations
Exercise some independent judgment while developing an understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
