About The Position

As a Software Engineer at Ketch, you’ll build product interfaces that make complex data ecosystems understandable and controllable. Ketch’s backend and AI systems classify sensitive data, detect issues across technologies, and make real-time policy decisions. This role turns signals, metadata, and model outputs into fast, clear, trustworthy interfaces.

You’ll design workflows that help customers inspect systems, explore classification results, understand decisions, evaluate risk, and take action. The work sits at the intersection of distributed systems, AI insights, and human decision-making, helping users navigate complex environments.

This is a full-time position with a US base salary range of $150,000–$180,000, plus equity and benefits. Pay within the range depends on work location and job-related skills, experience, and education or training.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience building production web applications.
• Deep TypeScript and React experience.
• Understanding of how browsers render and experience diagnosing and fixing real performance problems.
• Hands-on experience shipping fast, clean, and reliable React interfaces in production.
• Ability to design simple, predictable state patterns and work confidently with asynchronous data and evolving UI flows.
• Comfort working with backend and AI engineers to shape APIs and turn raw data into product experiences.
• Product-first mindset, clear communication, and a bias toward shipping, learning, and iterating quickly.
• Willingness to investigate performance issues, edge cases, and details that polish a UI.
• Excitement about privacy, data, and AI, and a desire to make complex technology intuitive for users.
• Familiarity with testing, design systems, and practical best practices for a startup environment.
• English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Build interfaces where customers map their data ecosystems and see how information moves across systems.
• Create React experiences that surface real-time classifications, consent states, policy outcomes, and risk signals.
• Craft experiences that bring privacy by design to life for users.
• Turn AI insights, model explanations, and decision traces into clear, trustworthy UI.
• Build inspection tools that show where sensitive data appears, why it was flagged, and what action to take next.
• Work with designers to create reusable components and data patterns that remain reliable across streaming events, large datasets, and complex asynchronous flows.
• Partner with backend and AI teams to shape the data contracts for classification, system discovery, and automated governance.
• Elevate the design system with patterns that make privacy and governance concepts feel simple.
