About The Position

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement software solutions that solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. This role involves all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. The engineer will also identify and troubleshoot application code-related issues, take an active role in code reviews to ensure solutions align with pre-defined architectural specifications, and assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participation in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions is also expected.

Requirements

• Minimum of a 3 or 4-year Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Manager, Lead Software Engineer, Software Consultant, or related occupation.
• Alternatively, a Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Manager, Lead Software Engineer, Software Consultant, or related occupation.
• Experience with data lake architectures, data warehousing, and big data technologies including data modeling, ETL, and data ingestion with at least one of the following Hadoop, Hive, or Parquet.
• Experience with development of software applications with Java.
• Experience working with software applications and technical processes within a cloud or microservices architecture.
• Experience working with AWS cloud platforms and building out data services with technologies including S3, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, AWS Glue, AWS Event Hub, EKS, and DynamoDB.
• Experience working with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes to build data platform services.
• Experience with data processing using data processing frameworks including Kafka and DBT.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration tools to model, partition, and transform data to create consumable datasets.
