About The Position

Apple’s services rely on performant, reliable networking primitives that connect services securely, scalably, and transparently. The Traffic team implements networking and traffic primitives for resilient service-to-service communication, packaged as ingress, egress, and mesh proxies at Apple scale. The Traffic Engineer designs and develops traffic proxies that power Apple services for hundreds of millions of users worldwide, and enhances the network stack’s ingress, egress, and mesh functionality. Senior engineers make informed technology choices within complex architectures, identify opportunities aligned with the team’s mission and Apple’s business, products, customers, and strategy, and make decisions even amid differing perspectives. They navigate ambiguity by focusing on broader objectives and desired impact, and coach and mentor teammates while seeking and providing constructive feedback. The team describes its workplace as peaceful, with options to socialize or focus, technical guidance and mentorship, and an encouraging, growth-focused culture. It encourages employees to use accrued vacation time and maintain work-life balance, and offers benefits.
