About The Position

WSP USA is seeking a Traffic Engineer to join its New England team. The role may be based in Boston, Massachusetts; Glastonbury, Connecticut; or Providence, Rhode Island. The Traffic Engineer provides technical assistance and guidance for traffic analysis, improvement, planning, engineering, design, and operation of streets, highways, transportation networks, adjacent land uses, and connections to other transportation modes and terminals. Work includes traffic engineering analyses and the design, concept development, and construction of roadways, intersections, Complete Streets, roadside safety measures, work zones, ITS, and traffic signals and timing. The position is responsible for delivering work that meets or exceeds industry standards for design, safety, and functionality. The role involves work across roadway project phases, from concept development and preliminary and final design through procurement, construction, and operation. It includes developing corridor and intersection improvements, designing ITS communications networks and signal improvements, applying traffic engineering technologies and modeling approaches, analyzing traffic operations and capacity, and preparing technical reports, presentations, and visualizations. The engineer collaborates with other professionals, engineers, planners, clients, sub-consultants, and transportation authorities on publicly funded projects and business development opportunities. The position requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline (or equivalent experience), 3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience, prior traffic design experience, and a Professional Engineer license. Occasional travel may be required, and work schedules may extend beyond a typical workweek to meet project requirements. WSP lists a compensation range of $88,500 to $135,000 for all locations.
