About The Position

Apple is seeking Software Engineers for Apple Services Engineering’s iCloud Platform to develop the next generation of cloud services infrastructure. The role contributes to critical iCloud components and introduces fundamental capabilities that enable new applications and scale existing services such as CloudKit, FaceTime, and Push Notifications. These services support Apple products and experiences including iCloud Photos, Drive, and Backup.

The team designs, builds, and grows Apple’s foundational privacy-focused platform, enabling signature applications and experiences used by over a billion people. Engineers partner with teams across Apple to develop new ecosystem experiences, improve service scalability, availability, and performance, evolve system design and architecture for continued growth, and work with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to investigate and remediate production issues. The work supports Apple’s growth in services while maintaining strong privacy guarantees for users.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience designing, implementing, and operating highly scalable distributed systems.
• Industry experience with programming languages such as Java, Swift, C/C++, or Go.
• Experience in performance benchmarking, debugging, and tuning distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud deployment and observability technologies, such as Kubernetes.
• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent related experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with diverse groups of people.
• Experience managing technical and organizational complexity and driving a project from an idea to production.
• Ability to approach problems with curiosity and flexibility to find innovative solutions.
• Understanding of cryptographic protocols, data encryption, secure key management, and security architecture.
