About The Position

LinkedIn is hiring a Software Engineer for its Systems and Infrastructure team. The role can be based in Bellevue, Washington, and is hybrid, with work performed both from home and at a LinkedIn office on select days based on business needs. The engineer will help build next-generation infrastructure and platforms, including application and service delivery, compute, scalable data storage and replication, search, AI, experimentation, privacy, and compliance systems. The position focuses on large-scale distributed technologies, algorithms, API and systems design, and writing code that performs at extreme scale. The engineer will work with open-source infrastructure and may contribute knowledge to the broader community.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or related practical experience.
• At least 1 year of industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm-related solutions.
• Programming experience in object-oriented languages such as Java, C++, Python, Go, C#, or Rust, and/or functional languages such as Scala.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Experience designing, building, and triaging complex, large-scale distributed systems.
• Industry, open-source, and/or academic research experience with technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kubernetes, Feather, GraphQL, gRPC, Apache Kafka, Pinot, Samza, or Venice.

• Participate in design and code reviews to maintain high development standards.
• Partner with peers, leads, and partners to define, scope, prioritize, and build impactful features at a high velocity.
