About The Position

Varen, an SAIC company, is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Systems Engineer to support infrastructure operations and maintenance for deployed operational solutions. The position is located in Suitland, Maryland and requires an active TS/SCI with polygraph. The engineer will troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, maintain technical documentation, evaluate technologies for infrastructure modernization, and propose solutions to the government for Configuration Control Board consideration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 14 or more years of experience; or master’s degree and 12 or more years of experience; or PhD or JD and 9 or more years of experience. Work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Support and oversee infrastructure team operations and maintenance tasks for deployed operational solutions, including Citrix, Microsoft, NetApp, and VMware.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, including performing root cause analysis.
• Maintain documentation for infrastructure, systems, subsystems, and components.
• Work with the IT Architecture and Engineering team to research, analyze, and assess new technologies for infrastructure modernization.
• Propose new solutions to the government, with proof of concept, for Configuration Control Board consideration.
