About The Position

Software Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Credit Company LLC (Dearborn, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the worksite. Design and implement scalable REST APIs for real-time vehicle data ingestion. Create and maintain cloud-native microservices in Java/SpringBoot. Define data models and integrate with SQL and NoSQL data stores. Build automated CI/CD pipelines to deploy services to the cloud. Monitor system health, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize performance. Collaborate with product owners and front-end teams to refine requirements. Mentor junior engineers and perform code reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • 5 years of experience with using REST API to ensure that data and services are available internally and externally via the internet.
  • 5 years of experience with debugging software using an interactive debugger, including VSCode or IntelliJ, to triage and reproduction of client and server issues.
  • 3 years of experience with using Java, .NET, Python, or Kotlin programming languages to implement scalable stateful web services and client-side business logic.
  • 3 years of experience with translating design requirements into functional specifications using requirements management platforms like Jira or a similar tool, and creating supporting documentation and diagrams using software such as Miro.
  • 3 years of experience with designing distributed systems in a cloud environment including Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, and containerization tool Docker.
  • 2 years of experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • 1 year of experience using Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure that changes are incorporated into shipping software and deployed correctly.
