About The Position

The Enterprise Technology Services organization supports American Express’s technology engineering, architecture, infrastructure, enterprise platforms, data governance, information security, digital products, and AI platforms. It provides global technology capabilities and 24x7 operational support for customer and colleague experiences. As a Software Engineer Intern, you will join a 10-week summer internship program and contribute to technology projects in an enterprise environment. You will develop, test, and improve software with an Agile team, and learn how products are designed, built, tested, and delivered. Depending on business needs and your strengths, you may join teams in backend, frontend, cloud, mobile, AI and machine learning, data-oriented engineering, site reliability, or full-stack product development. The internship includes structured learning and opportunities to collaborate with Product Managers, engineers, Quality Engineers, architects, security, and business partners. You will learn software delivery practices, secure engineering, testing, code quality, and how to translate customer or business needs into technical solutions. The program also offers mentorship, feedback, learning sessions, social events, and community service opportunities.
