About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer will lead the delivery of scoped features and models through collaborative teams, ensuring alignment with platform and business objectives. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable software solutions using modern programming languages and AI/ML integration. The position requires strong technical judgment, continuous improvement, and effective communication with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable solutions. The engineer will also support DevOps practices, code quality, and mentoring efforts to drive innovation and operational excellence within Walmart’s technology environment. Immigration Sponsorship support will NOT be available for this position. Our team builds and maintains the data and platform foundation supporting Sam’s Club’s retail media ecosystem. We integrate multiple advertising platforms, deliver standardized APIs, and enable real-time and batch data pipelines to support campaign execution, measurement, and reporting. Focused on scalable and reliable solutions, the team collaborates across functions to drive continuous improvement and innovation. Members apply strong technical skills in platform design, development, and testing, ensuring high-quality delivery aligned with business goals. This environment encourages technical ownership, iterative development, and effective problem-solving to meet evolving customer and system needs.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.
  • Strong experience delivering scoped features through iterative development and collaborative engineering.
  • Proficiency in debugging, code review, and continuous integration/deployment processes.
  • Ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions aligned with technical standards.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance development.
  • Skilled in translating complex business problems into actionable technical requirements with measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated technical judgment and adaptability to evolving technologies and system contexts.
  • Effective collaboration and clear communication across cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • OR 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related field

Responsibilities

  • Own scoped feature and model delivery through collaborative engineering teams, managing implementation, iteration, testing, and support.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reliable code across multiple languages, driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Integrate AI and ML components to enhance software intelligence and leverage generative AI tools to improve development velocity.
  • Assist in solution design, evaluating trade-offs and ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable systems aligned with company standards.
  • Engage stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements and define success metrics.
  • Monitor application performance, conduct maintenance, and ensure adherence to project milestones.
  • Promote engineering excellence through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
