About The Position
Canals is hiring a senior-level backend engineer to help support its rapidly growing customer base. The role focuses on building and owning complex backend systems that are scalable, performant, and reliable, while also shaping product features that deliver value to customers. The engineer will own substantial projects from planning through deployment, work directly with product and customer teams, and balance hands-on development with helping guide the team’s technical direction. Canals builds software for wholesale distributors to automate and improve workflows such as order processing, purchasing, and accounts payable.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience as a backend engineer building scalable, high-performance systems.
- Experience working independently in a fast-paced, product-focused environment.
- Ability to own deliverables and ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.
- Ability to guide and unblock other engineers and provide thoughtful code reviews and architectural feedback.
